The brush off..

How are your kids about brushing their teeth?! Is it a habit you started right from that 1st tooth or maybe more recent due to a full set of new teeth and a load of chocolate eating! 

We've bought numerous toothbrushes over the last year (two if which I've just found in the car?!) At first we just gave Noah his while we were all brushing ours to get him used to the routine but now he's getting older it's a struggle to really get a good brush of them! 

I tried several times to make a "game" out of it but now he's become familiar with this and just runs the other way! 🙈 

Is it as important now to get a thorough brush twice a day with their milk teeth? Or are we making more work for ourselves? Obviously it's important to establish a regular routine but should we be overly worried if we don't get the chance daily while there still toddlers?

How do you feel about taking your kids out to cafes & restaurants? Do you recoil at the thought of it or actually enjoy the whole experience? Are there any cafes or restaurants that you like that especially tailor for kids? 

I must say I really enjoy taking Maha & Noah out to eat & drink now, a few months back I would of dreaded it, Noah running up & down knocking into people sipping their flat whites but now he quite enjoys the whole experience & feels quite grown up getting his "babyccino"!! 

I do love how we're getting more European in our way of eating & drinking. In restaurants & cafes, kid friendly menus, baby changing facilities, bottle warming, free stickers & colouring is now somehow becoming the norm and I like it!

Techno kids

How much time do you let your kids watch tv/play on their tablets?

I for one am quite guilty of this! When they wake up too early on the weekend? When you want to cook dinner? When you need to get things done..?!

Let's face it there's nothing like a bit of Sarah & Duck or Bing to grab them for 5-10 min. 

We have been limiting our two now especially as Maha back at school and she has homework and earlier schedules, plus Noah has discoved colouring so is loving the huge sheets of A2 we have to scribble all over! 

We are also enjoying this Indian summer it seems so we've been encouraging them outside in the fresh air while it lasts!!

Sorry it's been a while..!

Well I've been very slack on my blog recently!! (Last post July!)

We've been very busy here at mahaorla moccasins! Adding more colours & sizes to the moccs collection, introducing new leather bows & braces to the line, hosting a baby shower for my sister plus keeping up with demands of a family! How do you keep that work/family life balance?

It's been fun though and we've all enjoyed a summer break! Here's a few photos of the last few months!

Summers finally arrived!

Yay looks like summer is here!! It's been so lovely enjoying the heat but it's been so hot & sticky at night!!

And to top it off this week Noah has caught chicken pox!! So he's really been struggling! Still been happy to model some moccs tho ;)

Noah is suddenly scared of things he uses to love?! Anything from a crying baby to a robot freaks him out at the moment!!
Think it's all part of growing up and their ever growing imagination..

Bedtime reading

My daughter Maha has just taken to reading Noah a story before going to bed, it's so very sweet to see & he actually sits still and listens (he never sits still!).

Do your children read together? I love that even with all the technology going on around them they still have a love of books & reading.

Wild day out!

We had a great day at the Tring Natural History Museum, it's such a great place to go & explore & see some amazing animals, recent & extinct. What's more, it's free entry!!

We also love a bit of dressing up!!
